Whether YOU Like It Or Not,
Scripture shows that at His return to earth Yeshua will restore the kingdom to a reunited nation of Israel and rule on the throne of David.
The Bible teaches that at His return to earth, Yeshua will restore the kingdom to Israel, reign from Jerusalem, and sit on the throne promised to David. Here are the scriptures that show this soon coming event..
1. The throne of David was specifically promised to the Messiah
The angel told Mary:
“The Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.”
— Luke 1:32–33
This links the Messiah directly to David’s throne and to ruling over the house of Jacob (Israel).
2. The disciples expected the kingdom to be restored to Israel
After the resurrection, the apostles asked:
“Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?”
— Acts 1:6
Yeshua did not rebuke the idea of restoration itself. He only said the timing was in the Father’s authority (Acts 1:7).
That suggests the expectation of a future restored kingdom was still valid.
3. Yeshua said He returns in glory to rule
“When the Son of man shall come in his glory… then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory.”
— Matthew 25:31
This describes a future enthronement connected with His return.
4. David’s throne is tied to Jerusalem/Zion
The prophets repeatedly place Messiah’s reign in Zion/Jerusalem:
“Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.”
— Psalm 2:6
“At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the Lord.”
— Jeremiah 3:17
“The Lord shall be king over all the earth.”
— Zechariah 14:9
These passages reflect earthly kingdom language, centered in Jerusalem.
5. Israel will be regathered under one king
“I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen… and bring them into their own land:
And one king shall be king to them all.”
— Ezekiel 37:21–22
“David my servant shall be king over them.”
— Ezekiel 37:24
This shows “David” as the future Messianic ruler from David’s line.
6. The apostles are promised rulership over Israel
“Ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”
— Matthew 19:28
That points to a restored tribal structure involving Israel in the Messianic age.
7. The kingdom is given to the Messiah at His return
“The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.”
— Revelation 11:15
This connects world rulership with His coming kingdom.
Summary
Putting these passages together, we see that,
- Yeshua returns to earth in glory.
- He receives and occupies the throne of David.
- The kingdom is restored to Israel.
- Israel is regathered.
- Jerusalem becomes the center of His rule.
- He reigns over all nations.
One-sentence conclusion
According to scripture, the return of Yeshua is not merely symbolic—it is the restoration of David’s kingdom on earth, expanded into a worldwide reign.
————————————
The "nations of Israel" will be reunited with the nation of Judah and brought back into their land at Yeshua's return.
Scripture teaches that when Yeshua returns, the divided house of Israel and the house of Judah will be reunited as one people and restored to their land. This fact appears repeatedly in the prophets.
1. Israel and Judah were divided—but not forever
After Solomon, the kingdom split:
- House of Israel (northern tribes)
- House of Judah (Judah, Benjamin, and associated peoples)
The prophets later speak of healing that division.
2. Ezekiel plainly says they become one nation again
“I will take the children of Israel from among the nations... and bring them into their own land:
And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all.”
— Ezekiel 37:21–22
This passage includes three parts:
- gathered from the nations
- brought into their own land
- made one nation
Then it says:
“Neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all.”
— Ezekiel 37:22
That directly addresses the old Israel/Judah split.
3. The two sticks prophecy names Judah and Joseph/Ephraim
Ezekiel was told to join two sticks:
- one for Judah
- one for Joseph / Ephraim / house of Israel
“They shall become one in thine hand.”
— Ezekiel 37:17
This is one of the clearest reunion prophecies in scripture.
4. One king over reunited Israel
After the reunion:
“My servant David shall be king over them.”
— Ezekiel 37:24
This depicts the Messianic rulership fulfilled in Yeshua, heir to David’s throne.
5. Jeremiah says Judah and Israel return together
“In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.”
— Jeremiah 3:18
Not separately—together.
6. Hosea says they are gathered under one head
“Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head...”
— Hosea 1:11
Again:
- Judah
- Israel
- gathered together
- under one ruler
7. This aligns with Messiah’s return and kingdom rule
At His return, Yeshua reigns as king:
“The Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David.”
— Luke 1:32
“The Lord shall be king over all the earth.”
— Zechariah 14:9
So many interpret the regathering and reunification as part of His kingdom establishment.
Summary
The prophetic pattern is:
- Israel scattered among nations
- Judah also dispersed
- Messiah returns
- Both houses gathered back
- Brought into the land promised to their fathers
- Made one nation again
- Ruled by the son of David
One-sentence conclusion
The scriptures show, the return of Yeshua includes the healing of the ancient split between Israel and Judah, restoring them as one people in their land under one king.
