A Day of Salvation

Today is A day of salvation, NOT The Day

There is a 100 year period after Christ's 1000 year rule in which the majority of people who have ever lived will have their chance at Salvation.

The 100 years of life is an important teaching in the plan of God, and it comes directly from the Great White Throne Judgment period that follows the second resurrection. Let’s carefully walk through it step by step with the scriptures.

I am presenting a couple studies on the subject.
Followed by how God's Holy Days picture His plan of Salvation

1. The Second Resurrection

  • Revelation 20:11–12

“And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it… And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God… and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.”

This is not the resurrection of the saints (first resurrection), but the resurrection of the rest of the dead — all those who lived and died without knowing God’s truth.

2. Opening of Understanding

  • Notice in Rev. 20:12 it says “the books were opened.” The Greek word for books is biblia — meaning the Scriptures. For the first time, their minds will be opened to the truth of God’s Word. This is when they will have their chance for salvation.

3. The Prophecy in Isaiah of 100 Years

  • Isaiah 65:20 (a millennial/Kingdom context, but also applies to the White Throne period):

“There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.”

This indicates a period of 100 years during which human beings will live, learn, and choose God’s way. At the end of that time, those who obey will receive eternal life; those who reject God will die the second death.

4. Mercy and Opportunity for All

  • Ezekiel 37:1–14 describes the great resurrection of the whole house of Israel — dry bones coming back to life. God says:

“Behold, O my people, I will open your graves… And I will put my spirit in you, and ye shall live.”

This shows that people are not raised merely to physical existence to be condemned — they are raised to be taught God’s truth and given His Spirit if they repent.

5. End of the 100 Years

  • After the 100 years, those who have accepted God’s way will enter into eternal life.
  • Those who stubbornly refuse will be cast into the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:14–15) — the second death, from which there is no resurrection.

Summary:
After the second resurrection, all who never truly knew God will be raised to physical life again. The books (Scriptures) will be opened to them, and they will be given 100 years (Isa. 65:20) to live, learn, and decide whether to choose God’s way. At the end of that period, they will either receive eternal life or face the second death in the lake of fire.

100 years of physical life after the resurrection….

The idea that people resurrected in the second resurrection will live on earth for 100 years before being changed to spirit beings is based on a harmonizing of several passages in scripture.

🔹 1. The Second Resurrection – A Physical Resurrection for Judgment

Revelation 20:5, 11–12

“But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished…
And I saw a great white throne… and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books…”

  • "Rest of the dead" refers to those not in the first resurrection.
  • The Great White Throne Judgment occurs after the Millennium.
  • The dead are resurrected, judged based on books being opened (commonly understood as the Bible), and their names can still be written in the Book of Life (v. 12) — indicating a period of learning and opportunity.

🔹 2. Physical Bodies Are Given in This Resurrection

Ezekiel 37:1–14 – The Valley of Dry Bones

This prophecy describes Israel being resurrected to physical life:

“Behold, I will open your graves… and bring you into the land of Israel… and I will put my spirit in you, and ye shall live…”
(Ezekiel 37:12–14)

  • This is not symbolic—it refers to literal resurrection.
  • People are raised with sinews, flesh, skin, and breath (vv. 5–8).
  • This fits the second resurrection: a resurrection to physical life for those who never had the chance to truly know God.

🔹 3. The 100-Year Period Comes from Isaiah 65

Isaiah 65:20

“There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days:
for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.”

This prophecy describes a time when:

  • People will live long lives—up to 100 years.
  • Even a sinner is allowed 100 years, suggesting a probationary period.

Though Isaiah 65 is sometimes applied to the Millennium, it also fits the second resurrection scenario:

  • A time of physical life on earth,
  • Opportunity for salvation, followed by judgment,
  • A limited span (100 years) to accept God’s truth.

🔹 4. Then They May Be Changed into Spirit Beings

We are shown that people are changed into spirit beings at the end of the 100 years, from passages:

Romans 2:6–7

“Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life…”

Those who respond to God’s truth during the second resurrection period will ultimately be granted immortality (eternal life), as spirit beings in God's family — just like those in the first resurrection.

🟨 Conclusion

The doctrine that people in the second resurrection will live for 100 years and then be changed to spirit beings."

Is understood from:

  • Revelation 20 (second resurrection to judgment),
  • Ezekiel 37 (resurrection to physical life),
  • Isaiah 65:20 (a 100-year life span for judgment),
  • Romans 2:6–7 and Revelation 21 (ultimate reward of eternal life).

————————

God’s Holy Day Plan:

  • The Last Great Day pictures the time of judgment for all who never had their opportunity in this life.
  • They will be resurrected into a world where Satan is gone, Christ rules, and God’s truth covers the earth.
  • They will live again for 100 years, during which time the “books” (the Bible) are opened (Rev. 20:12) and the Spirit of God is offered to them (John 7:37–39).
  • This shows God’s fairness: no one is left out — every human who ever lived will have their full opportunity for salvation.

Summary of the Holy Day Connection:

  • Feast of Trumpets Christ returns.
  • Day of Atonement Satan removed.
  • Feast of Tabernacles (7 days) 1,000 years of Christ’s reign.
  • Last Great Day (8th day) The second resurrection, when the billions who never knew God are given 100 years to learn His truth and choose eternal life.

Let’s learn more about it

100 Years of Physical life

Isaiah 65:17-25 is the principal text.

Verses 20 and 22 speak of a coming order in which “the child shall die an hundred years old” and “as the days of a tree are the days of My people.”   A period that follows the “second resurrection” (Rev 20:11-15)—i.e., the resurrection of “the rest of the dead,” those not included in the first resurrection (v. 5-6).

Verse 20 fixes a century-long probationary period: any who die at 100 are still regarded as mere children; those who refuse repentance are “accursed.”  Within the framework—death is still possible—yet the saints bear children, build homes, and enjoy the vineyard’s fruit (vv. 21-23).  The age thus begins after Satan’s final overthrow, spans one generation, and concludes when every knee has had the opportunity to bow (Phil 2:10-11).
