Joseph's Coat of Many Colors Become Scottish Tartans

Joseph's Coat of Many Colors Become Scottish Tartans

Scottish tartan patterns come from the fact that they are part of the tribes of Israel.

It all started with Joseph's coat of many colors. Here is the history

How it happened:

Joseph's coat of many colors was the origin of Scottish tartans.

Scripture says Joseph received a special garment (Genesis 37:3). The Hebrew phrase ketonet passim is a multicolored garment. The familiar "coat of many colors" comes from older translations.

* Israelites carried patterned clothing into Europe.
* Scottish clans preserved Israelite tribal identity through tartans.
* Similarity between Joseph's garment and tartans proves a connection.

What Scripture says

Genesis 37:3–4 (NKJV):

"Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children... and he made him a tunic of many colors."

The Hebrew expression ketonet passim has been understood to mean:

  • A multicolored robe.

The Bible does not describe the pattern, weave, or colors in detail.

The Meaning

It is know that:

  • Joseph's descendants became the peoples of Britain.
  • Distinctive woven patterns were preserved by those descendants.
  • Scottish tartans are therefore a continuation of Joseph's special garment.

How this happened:

Scottish tartans ultimately trace back to Joseph's special robe.

1. Joseph receives a distinctive robe (c. 1900–1700 BC)

Jacob gives Joseph a unique robe that sets him apart from his brothers (Genesis 37:3). The robe is assumed to have been woven with colorful stripes or a distinctive pattern rather than simply being richly ornamented.

2. Joseph's descendants preserve the tradition

As the descendants of Ephraim and Manasseh multiply, the special patterned garment becomes a family symbol. Different branches of the family gradually adopt variations of the original design while retaining recognizable features.

3. Israelite tribes develop identifying patterns

As the tribes of Israel grow, each tribe develops its own recognizable woven pattern for cloaks, blankets, or ceremonial garments. The patterns identify family lineage in much the same way seals, banners, or standards identify groups.

4. The northern tribes are scattered

Following the Assyrian conquest of the northern kingdom (2 Kings 17), many Israelites migrate north and west over generations.

As they do, they carry their weaving traditions with them.

5. Migration into northwestern Europe

The migrating Israelites eventually settle in regions including parts of Britain and Scotland. While languages, customs, and political systems change over centuries, family weaving traditions survive.

6. Tribal identity becomes clan identity

As centuries pass, the original Israelite tribal identities become Scottish clan identities. Each clan preserves and modifies its inherited woven pattern, producing recognizable but distinct designs.

7. Scottish tartans emerge

The original symbolic striped garment of Joseph evolves over many centuries into the tartans associated with Scottish clans. Colors and patterns multiply, but each continues to signify ancestry and family loyalty.

Tartans preserve an ancient Israelite heritage

  • Both Israelite tribes and Scottish clans emphasized ancestry and lineage.
  • Both cultures used symbolic colors and banners.
  • Weaving traditions were commonly passed down through families.
  • Tartans identify family heritage in a way some compare to biblical tribal identity.

THE JEWS IN ISRAEL TODAY ARE THE JEWS OF THE BIBLE

The Jews in Israel today are the Biblical Jews

DNA studies have been done that proves the people in the nation called Israel today are descendant from the tribe of Israel called Judah

Several well-known DNA studies have found that many present-day Jewish populations (including those in the State of Israel) share substantial ancestry with the ancient populations of the southern Levant, consistent with historical descent from the ancient Israelites.

The strongest studies include:

1. Agranat-Tamir et al. (2020) — The Genomic History of the Bronze Age Southern Levant

Published in the journal Cell.

Researchers analyzed DNA from 73 ancient individuals from Bronze and Iron Age sites in present-day Israel and Jordan.

They concluded:

  • Most modern Jewish populations show significant genetic continuity with ancient Levantine populations.
  • The genomes of most present-day Jewish groups are consistent with deriving 50% or more of their ancestry from populations related to those living in the Bronze Age southern Levant.

2. Behar et al. (2010)

This landmark study compared Jewish populations from Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.

The researchers found:

  • Ashkenazi, Sephardi, and Mizrahi Jewish populations cluster genetically together.
  • They share common Middle Eastern ancestry despite centuries of dispersion.
  • The results support a common ancestral origin in the Levant.

What these studies do prove

The evidence shows that modern Jewish populations have:

  • Significant ancestry from the ancient peoples of the southern Levant.
  • Shared ancestry with populations that lived in the land of Israel thousands of years ago.
  • Genetic continuity despite later migrations and admixture.

From a biblical perspective, we understand that the Jewish people include descendants primarily of Judah, Benjamin, and Levi, with individuals from other tribes having joined the Kingdom of Judah over time (for example, 2 Chronicles 11:13–17 and 15:9).

WHO IS THE SYNAGOGUE OF ‘SATAN’?

All the Tribes of Israel Soon to be Reunited

All the Tribes of Israel Soon to be Reunited

SOON YESHUA WILL REUNITE ALL THE TRIBES OF ISRAEL

That’s right. Many western white nations including The United States and England will be reunited with our brother Judah (Jews) into one nation again

We learn from scripture that at the return of Yeshua to earth. He will gather all of the tribes of Israel and place them back in the land He gave to Israel.

The tribe of Judah and the 10 tribes of Israel will be reunited into one nation,

The nation of Israel

When Yeshua returns, He will regather all twelve tribes of Israel, reunite Judah and the scattered tribes of Israel, and establish them as one nation in the land promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

NO “DIVERSITY”, one ethnic people. The Sons of Jacob, renamed Israel.

1. Yeshua Will Gather Israel at His Return

Yeshua Himself said that after His return, He would gather His people:

"And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds..." (Matthew 24:31)

The prophets repeatedly connect this gathering with the restoration of Israel to its land.

Many of the white Western European nations along with The United States, Canada, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand make up the “lost 10 tribes of Israel today.

2. Judah and Israel Will Be Reunited as One Nation

The clearest prophecy is in Ezekiel:

Ezekiel 37:15-22

Yahweh instructed Ezekiel to take two sticks:

  • One stick for Judah
  • One stick for Joseph/Ephraim (the House of Israel)

Then Yahweh said:

"I will take the children of Israel from among the nations... and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land."

"And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all."

This prophecy has never been completely fulfilled. It speaks of a future reunion of Judah and the House of Israel under one King.

3. The Messiah Will Assemble the Outcasts of Israel

Isaiah 11:11-13

This prophecy is specifically tied to the Messianic age.

"The Lord shall set His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His people..."

"He shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth."

NO “DIVERSITY”, one ethnic people. The Sons of Jacob, renamed Israel.

Notice:

  • Israel and Judah are both mentioned separately.
  • Both are gathered.
  • Both are reunited.

Verse 13 states:

"Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim."

The division between the two kingdoms ends.

4. Yahweh Will Bring Them Back Into Their Own Land

Jeremiah 31:7-10

"I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth."

Verse 10:

"He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock."

5. The Two Houses Become One Under David Their King

Hosea 1:10-11

"Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head."

The "one head" will be the Messiah, Yeshua.

6. Yahweh Will Gather Them From The Nation

Ezekiel 36:24

"For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land."

7. They Will Never Again Be Divided

Ezekiel 37:22

"Neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all."

This directly addresses the ancient split between:

  • Judah (Southern Kingdom)
  • Israel/Ephraim (Northern Kingdom)

After the restoration, there will be one united nation.

8. The Apostles Expected the Restoration of Israel

After Yeshua's resurrection, the disciples asked:

Acts 1:6

"Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?"

Yeshua did not say the restoration would never occur. He simply said:

"It is not for you to know the times or the seasons..."

indicating the restoration would occur at the Father's appointed time.

9. The Twelve Tribes Exist in Prophecy at the End

Revelation 7:4-8

A listing of twelve tribes appears during end-time events.

Revelation 21:12

The New Jerusalem has:

"twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel."

The tribes remain significant in Yahweh's plan.

Summary

The prophets consistently describe a future event when:

  1. Yeshua returns.
  2. Israel is gathered from the nations.
  3. Judah and the House of Israel are reunited.
  4. The tribes are restored to the land promised to their fathers.
  5. Messiah rules over them as King.
  6. Israel becomes one nation again.
  7. They are never again divided into two kingdoms.

The central prophecy is:

"I will make them one nation in the land... and one king shall be king to them all." — Ezekiel 37:22

This points to the future restoration of all Israel under the reign of Yeshua the Messiah in the Kingdom of Yahweh.

NO “DIVERSITY”,  one ethnic people. The Sons of Jacob, renamed Israel.
