Who Are The Saints / The Elect

Scripture shows that those who OBEY Yahweh, who keep the 7th day Sabbath, who keep His Holy Days, who keep His commandments are the saints that will be spared from the Wrath of Yahweh at the end of the tribulation, and be resurrected at the return of Yeshua 

The Scriptures consistently identify the saints as those who remain faithful to Yahweh by obeying Him, keeping His commandments, and enduring in faith. 

This study shows that the saints are those who obey Yahweh's commandments, including the seventh-day Sabbath and His appointed Holy Days, and that they are protected from Yahweh's wrath and resurrected at Yeshua's return.

The Saints Are Those Who Obey Yahweh

1. The Saints Keep Yahweh's Commandments

Revelation 14:12
"Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of Yahweh and the faith of Yeshua."

This verse gives two identifying marks of the saints:

• They keep the commandments of Yahweh.
• They have faith in Yeshua.

2. The Saints Keep the Testimony of Yeshua

Revelation 12:17
"...the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of Yahweh and have the testimony of Yeshua Messiah."

Again, the saints are identified by:

• Obedience.
• Faithful testimony.

3. Loving Yahweh Means Keeping His Commandments

John 14:15
"If you love Me, keep My commandments."

1 John 5:3
"For this is the love of Yahweh, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome."

4. Those Who Practice Lawlessness Are Rejected

Matthew 7:21–23
"Depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness."

Yeshua contrasts true disciples with those who live contrary to Yahweh's commands.

The Seventh-Day Sabbath Is Yahweh's Sign

Exodus 31:13
"Surely My Sabbaths you shall keep, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations."

Isaiah 66:22–23
"...from one Sabbath to another, all flesh shall come to worship before Me."

The Sabbath is presented as:

• Yahweh's sign.
• An enduring day of worship.
• Continuing into the future kingdom.

Yahweh's Holy Days Remain His Appointed Times

Leviticus 23:2
"These are My appointed feasts..."

The Holy Days are called:

• Yahweh's feasts, not Israel's feasts.

Those who observe these days know they prophetically point to Messiah's work:

• Passover
• Unleavened Bread
• Pentecost
• Trumpets
• Atonement
• Tabernacles
• Last Great Day

The Saints Are Protected From Yahweh's Wrath

Scripture distinguishes between tribulation and Yahweh's wrath. Scripture shows believers will experience persecution but to be spared from divine wrath.

Yahweh Protects His Faithful

Zephaniah 2:3
"Seek the LORD... It may be that you will be hidden in the day of the LORD's anger."

Revelation 3:10
"Because you have kept My command... I also will keep you from the hour of trial..."

Psalm 91:1–10
Those dwelling under Yahweh's protection are preserved while judgment falls.

1 Thessalonians 5:9
"For Yahweh did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Yeshua Messiah."

The Saints Are Resurrected at Yeshua's Return

The First Resurrection

1 Thessalonians 4:16–17
"The dead in Messiah will rise first."

1 Corinthians 15:51–52
"...at the last trumpet... the dead will be raised incorruptible."

Revelation 20:4–6
"Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection."

Matthew 24:29–31
"Immediately after the tribulation... He will send His angels... and gather His elect."

This passage places the gathering of the elect after the tribulation, at Yeshua's visible return.

The Saints Reign with Yeshua

Revelation 5:10
"And have made us kings and priests... and we shall reign on the earth."

Revelation 20:6
"They shall be priests of Yahweh and of Messiah, and shall reign with Him a thousand years."

Scripture shows the saints as those who trust in Yeshua, keep Yahweh's commandments, endure faithfully, are spared from Yahweh's wrath, are resurrected at Messiah's return, and reign with Him in His Kingdom.

A DAY OF SALVATION

Scripture shows that this is A day of salvation, NOT THE DAY of salvation. 

Everyone will be given a chance to accept Yah's way. 

Even those who have never heard his name

The Bible teaches that this present age is a day of salvation, but it also teaches that Yahweh's plan includes future opportunities for those who never truly knew Him.

1. Scripture says "a day of salvation"

The key verse is:

"For He says: 'In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in a day of salvation I have helped you.' Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is a day of salvation."

— 2 Corinthians 6:2 (literal rendering from the Greek)

Paul is quoting Isaiah 49:8. The Greek reads ἐν ἡμέρᾳ σωτηρίας (en hēmera sōtērias)—literally, "in a day of salvation."

Many English translations insert "the," but the Greek has no definite article ("the") before "day."

Paul's point is that today is a time of salvation for those being called now, not that today is the only time Yahweh will ever offer salvation.

2. Yahweh is calling only some people now

Yeshua repeatedly taught that not everyone was being called during His earthly ministry.

"No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him."

— John 6:44

"No one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father."

— John 6:65

If the Father must draw a person, then many have not yet been drawn.

3. Many have never truly known Yahweh

Paul wrote:

"How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard?"

— Romans 10:14

Billions throughout history have lived and died without hearing the Scriptures or the name of Yahweh.

Would a just and merciful Creator condemn people who never had an opportunity to know Him?

Scripture says no.

4. Yahweh wants everyone to be saved

"Yahweh... is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."

— 2 Peter 3:9

"...who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."

— 1 Timothy 2:3–4

If Yahweh truly desires all people to be saved, then every person must ultimately receive a genuine opportunity.

5. Most people have not yet had that opportunity

Yeshua said:

"No one knows the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him."

— Matthew 11:27

Knowing Yahweh is something that must be revealed.

Many have never received that revelation.

6. Ezekiel's vision shows a future resurrection to physical life

One of the clearest passages is Ezekiel 37.

The valley of dry bones represents the whole house of Israel.

Yahweh says:

"Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves."

Then:

"I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live."

— Ezekiel 37:12–14

Notice:

• They are raised from their graves.
• They return to physical life.
• Yahweh then offers them His Spirit.

This is not their first resurrection to immortality but a future opportunity to know Him.

7. The rest of the dead are raised later

"But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished."

— Revelation 20:5

After the Millennium comes another resurrection.

Then John writes:

"And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened..."

— Revelation 20:12

The Greek word translated "books" is biblia.

This pictures the Scriptures being opened to people who never previously understood them, followed by judgment according to their response.

8. Judgment is not always immediate condemnation

Peter writes:

"For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God."

— 1 Peter 4:17

Believers are already under judgment during their lives.

Judgment therefore means a period of evaluation, not merely sentencing.

Likewise, those raised later will enter a period in which they learn Yahweh's ways and are judged by their response.

9. Even the people of Sodom receive a future opportunity

Yeshua said:

"It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for you."

— Matthew 11:24

He also said:

"The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation."

— Matthew 12:41

These ancient peoples are pictured rising in the judgment, showinig resurrection rather than eternal destruction without opportunity.

10. Yahweh shows no partiality

"God shows no partiality."

— Romans 2:11

"In every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him."

— Acts 10:34–35

A perfectly just Judge would not condemn someone who never had a genuine chance to know Him.

Summary

The Scriptures Show:

• Now is a day of salvation for those whom the Father is calling (2 Corinthians 6:2).
• Not everyone is being called in this age (John 6:44, 65).
• Yahweh desires all people to be saved (1 Timothy 2:4; 2 Peter 3:9).
• Billions have never truly heard or understood His truth (Romans 10:14).
• There will be future resurrections in which people are brought back to life (Ezekiel 37; Revelation 20).
• Those people will have the opportunity to know Yahweh and respond to Him during a future period of judgment (Revelation 20:11–13; 1 Peter 4:17).

Scripture shows that this present age is "a day of salvation," not the only opportunity for every human being to respond to Yahweh.
