The 3 Resurrections

 

Scripture shows 3 resurrections. The first at Yeshua’s return for His Saint. Those who come up in the second resurrection will have 100 years of physical life to accept Yahweh. 

Those in the 3rd resurrection will be cast into the lake of fire for eternal death.

The bible shows a millennial (1,000-year) reign of Messiah and describe three resurrections. 

1. The First Resurrection

The resurrection of the faithful at Yeshua's return

Scriptures

"Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection..."
— Revelation 20:6

"The dead in Christ shall rise first."
— 1 Thessalonians 4:16

"Each in his own order: Messiah the firstfruits; afterward they that are Messiah's at his coming."
— 1 Corinthians 15:23

Who is raised?

• The faithful servants of Yahweh.
• Those who overcame and remained faithful.
• They receive immortality.

What happens?

• They reign with Messiah for 1,000 years.
• They become kings and priests.
• Death no longer has power over them.

Revelation 20:4-6

2. The Second Resurrection

The resurrection of the rest of mankind after the Millennium

Scriptures

"But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished."
— Revelation 20:5

"And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened..."
— Revelation 20:12

Who is raised?

• The billions who never truly knew Yahweh.
• Those who lived and died without understanding His truth.
• People from all nations and generations.

Ezekiel's Vision

Ezekiel 37 describes Israel being brought back to physical life:

"Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves."
— Ezekiel 37:12

The people in Ezekiel's vision:

• Return to physical bodies.
• Receive flesh, skin, and breath.
• Are not yet immortal.

The 100-Year Period

Scripture shows this period:

"For the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed."
— Isaiah 65:20

Isaiah 65:20 shows a period of up to 100 years in which resurrected people can learn Yahweh's ways and choose obedience.

What happens?

• The books (biblos—Scriptures) are opened.
• People learn the truth.
• They are judged by their response to that truth.
• Those who repent ultimately receive eternal life.

3. The Third Resurrection

The resurrection of those who knowingly reject Yahweh

Scriptures

"And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them..."
— Revelation 20:13

"And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
— Revelation 20:15

Who is raised?

According to scripture:

• Those who fully understood Yahweh's truth.
• Those who knowingly and permanently rejected Him.
• The incorrigibly wicked.

What happens?

They are judged and sentenced.

"This is the second death."
— Revelation 20:14

Eternal Death, Not Eternal Torment

Scripture repeatedly says:

"The wages of sin is death."
— Romans 6:23

"The soul that sinneth, it shall die."
— Ezekiel 18:4

"They shall be ashes under the soles of your feet."
— Malachi 4:3

This shows that the lake of fire results in complete destruction—eternal death from which there is no resurrection.

Summary Timeline

First Resurrection

Do Our Loved Ones Look Down On Our Suffering

 

Many people believe in what would be a cruel God. That has taken their loved ones away from them and taken them to be with Him in heaven. Where the loved one has to look down on their suffering.  

This is NOT true. Our loving Father would not allow that.

Many people struggle with the idea that, if their loved one dies and immediately goes to heaven, that loved one would have to watch the pain, grief, wars, suffering, and tragedies still happening on earth. For many, that picture raises difficult questions about Yahweh's love, mercy, and justice.

The Dead Are Asleep, Not Watching

Ecclesiastes 9:5

"For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing..."

Ecclesiastes 9:10

"There is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest."

According to these verses, the dead are not conscious observers looking down on the suffering of those they left behind.

Their Thoughts Have Perished

Psalm 146:4

"His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish."

The Bible describes death as a complete cessation of conscious thought until the resurrection.

David Was Not in Heaven

Peter said concerning King David:

Acts 2:34

"For David is not ascended into the heavens..."

Even David, a man after Yahweh's own heart, was awaiting the resurrection.

Yeshua Compared Death to Sleep

When Lazarus died:

John 11:11-14

"Our friend Lazarus sleepeth... Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead."

Yeshua repeatedly used sleep as a picture of death because the next conscious moment for the believer is awakening in the resurrection.

The Hope Is the Resurrection

The comfort given throughout Scripture is not that our loved ones are watching us from heaven, but that they will live again.

John 5:28-29

"All that are in the graves shall hear his voice."

1 Corinthians 15:52

"The dead shall be raised incorruptible."

1 Thessalonians 4:16

"The dead in Messiah shall rise first."

This Is The TRUE Reflection Of Yahweh's Character

Since Yahweh is loving and merciful:

• He would not leave faithful loved ones helplessly watching the suffering of their families.
• He would not force parents to watch children suffer for generations.
• He would not force children to watch grieving parents.
• He provides rest for the dead until the time He calls them back to life.

Instead, the biblical picture is described as peaceful sleep in the grave. To the person who dies, centuries may pass, but their next conscious moment is the resurrection and reunion with those they love.

Daniel 12:2

"Many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake..."

That is why believers find comfort in the resurrection hope:

Your loved one is not suffering.
Your loved one is not watching your pain.
Your loved one is resting.

And every day brings us one day closer to the resurrection and the great reunion Yahweh has promised.

Six Days You Shall Labor

 

We know that Yahweh gave us a day to rest. The 7th Day Sabbath

But He also wants us to work the other 6 days.

The Bible consistently presents a pattern of six days of labor followed by one day of rest. The emphasis is not simply on resting on the Sabbath, but on working during the six ordinary days that Yahweh has given for labor.

1. The Fourth Commandment

The clearest command is found in the Ten Commandments.

Exodus 20:9-10

"Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to Yahweh your Elohim. On it you shall not do any work..."

Notice that the command has two parts:

• Six days you shall labor
• The seventh day you shall rest

The Sabbath command is not merely "don't work on the seventh day." It also recognizes the other six days as the proper time for work.

2. Repeated Again

Exodus 23:12

"Six days you shall do your work, but on the seventh day you shall rest..."

Again, Yahweh establishes the weekly rhythm:

• Six working days
• One day of complete rest

3. Before the Ten Commandments

Even before Sinai, while gathering manna:

Exodus 16:26

"Six days you shall gather it, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, there will be none."

Israel worked for six days collecting food and rested on the seventh.

4. The Feast Calendar

Even during holy seasons the same pattern remained.

Leviticus 23:3

"Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest..."

Notice the wording:

It does not merely say you may work six days.

It says:

"Six days shall work be done."

5. The Reason

The pattern comes directly from Creation.

Exodus 20:11

"For in six days Yahweh made heaven and earth... and rested on the seventh day. Therefore Yahweh blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy."

Yahweh Himself established the weekly cycle:

• Six days of creative work
• One day of rest

His people are instructed to follow that pattern.

6. Yeshua Recognized the Same Pattern

Yeshua taught that there is an appointed time for work.

John 9:4

"We must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; night is coming when no one can work."

Although speaking spiritually, Yeshua emphasized diligence in the time given for labor.

7. Believers Are Expected to Work

Paul repeatedly taught believers to earn their living.

2 Thessalonians 3:10

"If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat."

Notice he says not willing, not unable.

Ephesians 4:28

"Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands..."

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12

"...work with your own hands... so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one."

8. Proverbs Praises Diligence

The wisdom literature repeatedly commends steady work.

Proverbs 6:6-11

"Go to the ant... consider her ways and be wise."

The ant works diligently in season rather than waiting until it is too late.

Proverbs 10:4

"A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich."

Proverbs 12:11

"Whoever works his land will have plenty of bread."

Does This Mean Every Person Must Work Six Days Every Week?

Scripture establishes six days as the ordinary time for labor and the seventh day as the day of rest. However, it does not explicitly command that every individual must always work on all six days regardless of circumstances.

The Bible also recognizes situations such as:

• illness
• old age
• disability
• seasonal work
• harvest cycles
• jubilees and sabbatical years

The primary command is that the Sabbath is not to be treated as an ordinary workday, while the other six days are the proper time for work and productive labor.

The biblical pattern is consistent throughout Scripture:
