Scripture shows that Yeshua will return to earth at the end of the tribulation at the start of the wrath of Yahweh. That all those who have died in Yeshua will join those still alive and will be changed into spirit beings. Will join Yeshua in the air at His return.
Yahweh's government will be restored to earth. Yeshus and the saints will rule on earth for 1000 years.
This is commonly called a post-tribulation return of Yeshua, followed by the resurrection of the saints, the establishment of Yahweh's Kingdom on earth, and the 1,000-year reign described in Revelation 20.
(It is important to remember that ONLY the Elect, the Saints will take part in this first resurrection. At Yeshua's return.
Who are the Elect / Saints, Those who obey Yahweh, who keep His commandments, who keep his 7th day Sabbath and Holy Days.
Most of the people still alive on earth will be physical flesh and blood, NOT spirit beings. They will live on into the millennial rule of Yeshua.
I will post a study on the SECOND resurrection soon).
Here are the primary scriptures used to prove this.
1. Yeshua Returns After the Tribulation
Yeshua directly states His coming occurs after the tribulation:
"Immediately after the tribulation of those days... they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."
— Matthew 24:29-30
At that time:
"He shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect."
— Matthew 24:31
Notice the order:
- Tribulation
- Heavenly signs
- Yeshua appears
- Trumpet sounds
- Elect gathered
2. The Resurrection Occurs at His Return
Paul describes the same event:
"For the Master Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of Elohim: and the dead in Messiah shall rise first."
— 1 Thessalonians 4:16
Then:
"Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Master in the air."
— 1 Thessalonians 4:17
The dead saints are raised first.
The living saints are then transformed and gathered with them.
3. The Saints Are Changed Into Spirit Beings
Paul explains the transformation:
"We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump."
— 1 Corinthians 15:51-52
And:
"This corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality."
— 1 Corinthians 15:53
The resurrection body is described as:
"It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body."
— 1 Corinthians 15:44
The saints receive immortality and become spirit beings.
4. This Occurs at the Last Trumpet
Paul places the resurrection at:
"The last trump."
— 1 Corinthians 15:52
The seventh trumpet announces:
"The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Master, and of His Messiah."
— Revelation 11:15
At this trumpet:
"The time of the dead, that they should be judged."
— Revelation 11:18
The resurrection and establishment of the Kingdom occur together.
5. Yahweh's Wrath Follows the Gathering of the Saints
Yeshua describes heavenly signs after the tribulation:
"The sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light."
— Matthew 24:29
The sixth seal shows the same signs:
"The sun became black... and the moon became as blood."
— Revelation 6:12
Immediately afterward people cry:
"For the great day of His wrath is come."
— Revelation 6:17
This shows:
- Tribulation
- Heavenly signs
- Return of Yeshua
- Resurrection and gathering of saints
- Wrath of Yahweh
6. Yeshua Returns to the Mount of Olives
Yeshua does not remain in heaven with the saints.
He returns with them to earth:
"His feet shall stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives."
— Zechariah 14:4
And:
"Yahweh my Elohim shall come, and all the saints with You."
— Zechariah 14:5
The resurrected saints accompany Him.
7. Yahweh's Government Is Restored to Earth
The Kingdom is established on earth:
"The Elohim of heaven shall set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed."
— Daniel 2:44
Yeshua receives authority:
"There was given Him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom."
— Daniel 7:14
And the saints share in that government:
"The kingdom and dominion... shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High."
— Daniel 7:27
8. The Saints Reign With Yeshua for 1,000 Years
John writes:
"They lived and reigned with Messiah a thousand years."
— Revelation 20:4
And:
"Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection."
— Revelation 20:6
These resurrected saints become:
"Priests of Elohim and of Messiah, and shall reign with Him a thousand years."
— Revelation 20:6
9. The Saints Rule on Earth
The location of that reign is clearly stated:
"You have made them unto our Elohim kings and priests: and they shall reign on the earth."
— Revelation 5:10
Not in heaven forever, but on the earth under Yahweh's government.
