AMERICA, MY PEOPLE ARE DESTROYED (song)
A Prophetic Song Inspired by Hosea 4
[Intro]
Hear the word of Yahweh!
Hear the warning from on high!
A nation blessed, a people chosen,
Now must answer the question: Why?
[Verse 1]
There is no truth, there is no mercy,
No knowledge of Yahweh in the land.
The people wander from His teachings,
Rejecting the truth of His command.
From sea to sea, the pride is growing,
From shore to shore, the darkness spreads.
We built our towers, praised our wisdom,
While turning from the words He said.
[Pre-Chorus]
We had the truth, but we rejected,
We knew the way, but turned aside.
We traded wisdom for our idols,
And let our Father's words be denied.
[Chorus]
America! America!
Hear the words that Yahweh spoke!
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge!”
Wake up before the final stroke!
You have forgotten your Creator,
You have cast His laws away.
America! America!
Will you turn to Yahweh today?
[Verse 2]
The land is filled with strife and violence,
The innocent cry out in pain.
Truth is twisted, right is mocked,
And selfish hearts pursue their gain.
The priests have failed to teach His statutes,
The people love the things they do.
And those who claim to know the Scriptures
Must ask: Have we been faithful, too?
[Pre-Chorus]
For judgment begins with Yahweh’s people,
No earthly power can stand alone.
A nation cannot buy salvation,
Nor claim His favor while His laws are thrown.
[Chorus]
America! America!
Hear the words that Yahweh spoke!
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge!”
Wake up before the final stroke!
You have forgotten your Creator,
You have cast His laws away.
America! America!
Will you turn to Yahweh today?
[Verse 3]
Remember Abraham and the promise,
Remember Isaac, Jacob, too.
If we have shared the promised blessings,
Then what does Yahweh ask us to do?
Not empty words or outward worship,
Not Sunday praise with hearts of stone.
But humble hearts that seek His teaching,
And walk the path that He has shown.
The Sabbath day, His holy seasons,
The commandments written in His Word.
How long will we ignore His warnings?
How long before His voice is heard?
[Bridge]
Read Hosea! Hear the warning!
Let the sleeping nation rise!
Knowledge rejected brings destruction,
Truth abandoned blinds the eyes!
Do not trust in wealth or weapons!
Do not boast in earthly might!
Turn your heart toward Yahweh’s teaching!
Walk again within His light!
Yet Yahweh’s word is still before us,
His warnings call us to repent.
Let every heart examine Scripture,
And seek the path His words have meant.
[Breakdown]
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”
Not because truth was never given,
But because knowledge was rejected.
America, examine yourself.
Return to the Scriptures.
Return to the commandments.
Seek Yahweh while there is time.
[Final Chorus – Full Choir, Epic and Urgent]
America! America!
Can you hear the warning cry?
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge!”
Will you turn, or pass it by?
Remember Yahweh! Keep His teaching!
Let His truth your hearts renew!
America, examine your ways!
Let the Word of Yahweh judge you!
[Outro]
The word of Yahweh stands forever,
Though nations rise and nations fall.
Hear the warning given through Hosea,
And heed the Almighty's call.
America…
Hear His Word.
America…
Return to Yahweh.
