Yeshua of the Bible

Yeshua of the Bible

Scripture and tradition show the Yeshua of the Bible has been transformed to the modern worldly “Jesus”. A false savior of the false “church”.

Bible scholars agree that over the centuries, traditions, doctrines, artwork, and cultural ideas have been added to how people understand Yeshua. This shows how a "false savior" has deceived the “Christian Church”.

Let’s use scripture to learn about the Biblical Yeshua.

1. The Biblical Yeshua Was a Torah-Observant Jew

Yeshua said:

"Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill." (Matthew 5:17)

"If you love Me, keep My commandments." (John 14:15)

Yeshua:

  • Kept the Sabbath (Luke 4:16).
  • Kept Passover (Luke 22:15).
  • Attended the biblical feasts (John 7:10).
  • Wore Jewish garments (Matthew 9:20).
  • Taught from the Hebrew Scriptures. (The ONLY scripture in existence. There was NO New Testament)

Contrast with Common Modern Traditions

Modern "churches" teach the FALSE Jesus:

  • The Law is abolished.
  • The Sabbath is no longer required.
  • Biblical Holy Days are replaced by later traditions.
  • Obedience is optional.

This creates a significant difference between the Yeshua presented in the Gospels and the false Jesus presented in popular religion.

2. Yeshua Warned About False Versions of Himself

Yeshua said:

"For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders." (Matthew 24:24)

Paul warned:

"If someone comes and preaches another Yeshua (Jesus) whom we have not preached..." (2 Corinthians 11:4)

The apostles expected counterfeit versions of the Messiah to appear.

3. The Biblical Yeshua Taught Obedience

Yeshua said:

"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father." (Matthew 7:21)

And:

"Depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!" (Matthew 7:23)

The Greek word translated "lawlessness" is anomia, meaning disregard for Yahweh's law.

Contrast

A common modern FALSE message is:

  • Believe only.
  • Obedience is unnecessary.
  • Commandments are irrelevant.

Yet Yeshua repeatedly connected faith with obedience.

4. The Biblical Yeshua Preached the Kingdom of Yahweh

His primary message was:

"Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." (Matthew 4:17)

"This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world." (Matthew 24:14)

The Gospel accounts show Yeshua focusing on:

  • The coming Kingdom.
  • Repentance.
  • Obedience.
  • Resurrection.

Many modern presentations focus almost exclusively on personal salvation while rarely discussing the coming Kingdom.

5. The Biblical Yeshua Did Not Teach Popular Religious Traditions

Yeshua warned:

"In vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men." (Mark 7:7)

He repeatedly challenged religious traditions that contradicted Scripture.

6. The Biblical Yeshua Was Not the Long-Haired European Figure of Tradition

Scripture gives very little description of Yeshua's appearance.

Paul wrote:

"Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him?" (1 Corinthians 11:14)

Yeshua appeared as a first-century Jewish man rather than the later European artistic portrayals that became common centuries afterward.

7. The Test Scripture Gives

The Bible's test is

  • Use the correct name
  • Avoid iconology that depicts the false Jesus.

Yeshua said:

"Why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do the things which I say?" (Luke 6:46)

And:

"If you love Me, keep My commandments." (John 14:15)

Summary Comparison

Biblical Yeshua

Common Religious Tradition

Kept Sabbath

Teaches Sabbath abolished

Kept Holy Days

Replaces them with later traditions

Taught obedience

Emphasizes belief without obedience

Preached Kingdom of Yahweh

Focuses mainly on heaven after death

Condemned lawlessness

Minimizes Torah observance

Followed Scripture

Follows traditions of men

To Torah-observant believers, followers of theTRUE Yeshua, the issue is not only the English name "Jesus", but that “Christians” are NOT following the Yeshua revealed in Scripture. Shown in passages such as Matthew 7:21-23, Mark 7:7-13, 2 Corinthians 11:4, and Matthew 24:24.

We are warned to test all teachings against the Scriptures.
