Scripture shows that Yahweh protects His faithful people during times of judgment and tribulation. But it also shows that true disciples may still face persecution, testing, hardship, and even martyrdom.
My wife that died in the faith 17 years ago is now in a place of safety.
Peacefully sleeping in the grave until the return of Yeshua.
The word “elect” means chosen ones.
Yeshua said:
“For false messiahs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.”
— Matthew 24:24
The elect are described in Scripture as those who:
- Love Yahweh
- Keep His commandments
- Hold to the testimony/faith of Yeshua
- Endure faithfully to the end
Key Scriptures
Obedient Saints
“Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of Yahweh, and the faith of Yeshua”
— Revelation 14:12
Those Led by Yahweh
“Many are called, but few are chosen.”
— Matthew 22:14
Set Apart From the World
“If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world… therefore the world hateth you.”
— John 15:19
The Remnant
“The dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Yeshu.”
— Revelation 12:17
How Will Yahweh Protect His Elect?
Scripture gives multiple examples and prophecies showing divine protection during judgment.
Revelation 12 — Protection in the Wilderness
One of the clearest passages:
“And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished…”
— Revelation 12:14
Many understand this to symbolize Yahweh protecting His faithful people during the tribulation period.
Psalm 91 — Protection During Trouble
“A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come near thee.”
— Psalm 91:7
“Because thou hast made Yahweh… thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee…”
— Psalm 91:9–10
Sealed Servants of Yahweh
“Hurt not the earth… till we have sealed the servants of Yahweh in their foreheads.”
— Revelation 7:3
The sealing represents Yahweh marking and preserving His servants.
Philadelphia Assembly Promise
“Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world…”
— Revelation 3:10
This refers to protection through the coming worldwide trial.
Will Everyone Who Calls Themselves “Christian” Be Protected?
Yeshua warned that many who claim His name are not truly obedient to Him.
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father…”
— Matthew 7:21
“This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.”
— Mark 7:6
Scripture repeatedly emphasizes:
- obedience,
- endurance,
- faithfulness,
- and truth.
What About the “Rapture”?
Many “believers” hold these unbiblical views
- pre-tribulation rapture,
- mid-tribulation,
- post-tribulation,
Only THIS is correct:
- A gathering of the ELECT / CHOSEN at Messiah’s return.
Those who know the truth about the pre-tribulation rapture point to these passages:
Yeshua Said His Followers Would Face Tribulation
“In the world ye shall have tribulation…”
— John 16:33
Gathering After the Tribulation
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days… He shall send His angels… and they shall gather together His elect…”
— Matthew 24:29–31
The Resurrection at the Last Trumpet
“For the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible…”
— 1 Corinthians 15:52
“The Lord himself shall descend from heaven… and the dead in Christ shall rise first.”
— 1 Thessalonians 4:16
These passages show the gathering of the elect occurring at Messiah’s visible return NOT a secret removal beforehand.
Scripture Also Shows Some Faithful May Be Martyred
Protection does not always mean avoiding death physically.
Revelation shows some faithful believers are killed for their testimony:
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb… and they loved not their lives unto the death.”
— Revelation 12:11
“I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God…”
— Revelation 20:4
So Scripture presents both:
- divine protection and preservation,
- and faithful endurance through persecution.
Overall Scriptural Picture:
- Yahweh knows and seals His elect.
- The elect are characterized by obedience, faith, endurance, and truth.
- The world increasingly hates those who follow Yahweh faithfully.
- Yahweh protects and preserves His people during judgment.
- Messiah gathers His elect at His coming.
- Mere profession without obedience is not enough.
- Some faithful believers may still suffer persecution or martyrdom before the Kingdom comes.
