Scripture shows that at the return of Yeshua and the beginning of his 1000 year reign on earth. There will be people left alive that will enter into that 1000 year time period, They will be flesh and blood. They will live in homes and have families
When Yeshua returns to establish His Kingdom on earth, not every human being will be destroyed or changed into spirit beings immediately. There will be surviving nations and peoples — still flesh and blood — who continue living on the earth during the 1000-year reign.
Here are the major scriptures that point to this:
1. Survivors Remain After Yeshua Returns
Zechariah 14:16
After describing Yeshua’s return and the battle against the nations:
“And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King…” — Zechariah 14:16
This is important because:
- These are people “left” alive after the events of Yeshua’s return.
- They are still mortal nations.
- They travel yearly to Jerusalem.
- They can obey or refuse obedience.
A few verses later:
“And it shall be, that whoso will not come up… upon them shall be no rain.” — Zechariah 14:17
Spirit beings do not need rain for crops. Flesh-and-blood nations do.
2. People Build Homes and Plant Vineyards
Isaiah 65:20-23
This prophecy describes conditions during Messiah’s reign:
“They shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.” — Isaiah 65:21
“They shall not build, and another inhabit…” — Isaiah 65:22
This describes ordinary human life:
- building homes
- agriculture
- families
- long physical lives
Verse 20 also says:
“For the child shall die an hundred years old…”
Death still exists among humans during this period, meaning these are not yet immortal spirit beings.
3. Nations Continue to Exist During the Millennium
Revelation 20:4-6
This passage describes the saints reigning with Messiah:
“...they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.”
The resurrected saints reign over others.
Who are they ruling over?
The surviving nations and peoples still living physically on earth.
This is reinforced later:
Revelation 20:7-9
After the thousand years:
“Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, and shall go out to deceive the nations…”
Nations still exist at the end of the millennium.
Those nations must have been populated throughout the 1000 years by physical human beings having children and families.
4. Mortals Will Have Children During Messiah’s Reign
Isaiah 65:23
“They are the seed of the blessed of Yahweh, and their offspring with them.”
This directly speaks of offspring and descendants.
That means:
- marriage
- childbirth
- families
- generations continuing during the millennium
5. The Saints Rule Over Physical Nations
Revelation 2:26-27
Yeshua promises the faithful:
“And he that overcometh… to him will I give power over the nations.”
If all humans became spirit beings instantly at Yeshua’s return, there would be no physical nations left to rule.
6. The Kingdom Begins on Earth, Not in Heaven
Revelation 5:10
“...and we shall reign on the earth.”
Daniel 7:27
“And the kingdom and dominion… shall be given to the people of the saints…”
The Kingdom is established on earth among surviving peoples and nations.
Putting the Picture Together
Scripture presents this sequence:
- Yeshua returns.
- Wicked systems are destroyed.
- Some survivors from the nations remain alive.
- The resurrected saints become immortal and reign with Messiah.
- Mortal humans continue living on earth.
- They build homes, farm, marry, and raise children.
- The earth gradually learns Yahweh’s ways during the 1000 years.
Key Difference in Scripture
The Bible distinguishes between:
- The resurrected saints → changed to immortal spirit life
- The surviving nations → remain flesh and blood
Paul describes the change of the saints here:
1 Corinthians 15:51-52
“We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed…”
But Zechariah and Isaiah show ordinary human nations still existing afterward.
Both conditions exist together during Messiah’s reign.
Here is a simple prophetic flow:
