[Verse 1]
These hands are growing older,
My steps are slowing down.
Some days my heart is heavy
With the sorrows all around.
But when I open up Your Word,
There’s strength along the way.
Though this weary body weakens,
You renew me day by day.
[Chorus]
Day by day, You renew me,
Yahweh, help me carry on.
Keep my eyes upon Your promise
Through the night until the dawn.
What I see will pass away,
But Your Word will still remain.
There is life beyond this sorrow,
There is joy beyond this pain.
[Verse 2]
You never said the road was easy,
You never mocked my tears.
You have heard my midnight prayers
Through the long and lonely years.
When I cannot face tomorrow,
Help me trust You for today.
Put Your courage deep within me,
Give me strength to walk Your way.
[Chorus]
Day by day, You renew me,
Yahweh, help me carry on.
Keep my eyes upon Your promise
Through the night until the dawn.
What I see will pass away,
But Your Word will still remain.
There is life beyond this sorrow,
There is joy beyond this pain.
[Verse 3]
Those we love who sleep in silence
Are remembered in Your care.
At the sound of Yeshua’s calling,
They will wake to breathe the air.
You who raised Your Son from darkness
Have the power to raise us too.
So I hold the hope You’ve given,
For Your promises are true.
[Bridge]
These troubles feel so heavy,
But they will not always stay.
An eternal weight of glory
Waits beyond this passing day.
At the last trump, we shall rise,
Changed forever by Your might.
Every mortal weakness ended,
Every shadow lost in light.
[Final Chorus]
Day by day, You renew me,
Yahweh, help me carry on.
Keep my eyes upon Your promise
Through the night until the dawn.
What I see will pass away,
But Your Word will still remain.
You will wipe away our sorrow,
You will bring an end to pain.
[Outro]
Though the outward man is fading,
Still my hope will not give way.
Yahweh, You are ever faithful—
You renew me day by day.
You renew me day by day.
