Who Are Followers of “The Way”?

Who Are Followers Of The Way

Who or what is a follower of The Way. What does the Torah have to do with The Way. And how do they differ from people who call themselves Christian today?

Who Is a Follower of “The Way”?

A follower of The Way is a disciple who seeks to live as Yeshua lived, believe what He taught, obey Yahweh’s commandments, and prepare for the coming Kingdom of Yahweh.

The book of Acts repeatedly described their faith as “the Way.”

“But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the Elohim of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets.”

— Acts 24:14

Other examples include:

  • Acts 9:2 — Saul searched for people belonging to “this Way.”
  • Acts 19:9 — Some spoke evil of “that Way.”
  • Acts 19:23 — A disturbance arose concerning “that Way.”
  • Acts 22:4 — Paul said he had persecuted “this Way.”
  • Acts 24:22 — Felix had knowledge concerning “that Way.”

“The Way” was not merely the name of an organization. It described a way of believing, worshipping, and living.

Yeshua said:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

— John 14:6

Therefore, a follower of the Way follows Yeshua as the way leading to Yahweh.

The Way Began With Yahweh

“The Way” did not originate in the book of Acts. Scripture had already spoken about the way of Yahweh:

“For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of Yahweh, to do justice and judgment.”

— Genesis 18:19

“Teach me thy way, O Yahweh; I will walk in thy truth.”

— Psalm 86:11

“Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of Yahweh.”

— Psalm 119:1

“Prepare ye the way of Yahweh, make straight in the desert a highway for our Elohim.”

— Isaiah 40:3

Yeshua did not establish a path that opposed His Father. He perfectly demonstrated the way of Yahweh.

What Does the Torah Have to Do With the Way?

The Torah is the first 5 books of the Bible and means instruction, teaching, or direction. It includes Yahweh’s commandments and describes how His people are to live.

The Torah does not replace Yeshua, and Yeshua does not compete with the Torah. Yeshua is the living example of Yahweh’s instructions being practiced perfectly.

Yeshua obeyed the Torah

Yeshua:

  • Kept the Sabbath — Luke 4:16
  • Observed Passover — Luke 22:15
  • Attended the Feast of Tabernacles — John 7:2–14
  • Quoted the Torah as authoritative — Matthew 4:4, 7, 10
  • Taught obedience to Yahweh’s commandments — Matthew 19:17
  • Never committed sin — Hebrews 4:15

Since Scripture defines sin as the transgression of the law, Yeshua’s sinless life means that He never violated Yahweh’s law:

“Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.”

— 1 John 3:4

Yeshua did not abolish the Torah

“Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.”

— Matthew 5:17

To fulfill does not mean to abolish. Yeshua immediately continued:

“Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven.”

— Matthew 5:19

He fulfilled the Torah by obeying it, demonstrating its true meaning, and accomplishing what was written prophetically concerning Him.

Paul continued believing the Torah

Paul’s confession is especially important:

“So worship I the Elohim of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets.”

— Acts 24:14

Paul did not describe the Way as freedom to disregard Yahweh’s commandments. He wrote:

“Do we then make void the law through faith? Yahweh forbid: yea, we establish the law.”

— Romans 3:31

He also said:

“The law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.”

— Romans 7:12

The new covenant writes Yahweh’s law upon the heart

The new covenant does not say that Yahweh’s law disappears. It says that the law moves from stone into the minds and hearts of His people:

“I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts.”

— Hebrews 8:10; compare Jeremiah 31:31–33

The difference is not law versus no law. The difference is between commandments merely written externally and those willingly obeyed through an inwardly changed heart.

Obedience Does Not Purchase Salvation

A follower of the Way does not believe that Torah observance earns salvation.

Salvation is Yahweh’s gift, made possible through Yeshua’s sacrifice:

“For by grace are ye saved through faith… not of works, lest any man should boast.”

— Ephesians 2:8–9

But the passage continues:

“For we are his workmanship, created in Messiah Yeshua unto good works, which Yahweh hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

— Ephesians 2:10

Obedience is not the price of salvation. It is the fruit of genuine faith, repentance, and love.

Yeshua said:

“If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

— John 14:15

John explained:

“For this is the love of Yahweh, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.”

— 1 John 5:3

Faith that produces no obedient life is dead faith:

“Faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”

— James 2:17

Today, the label “Christian” covers thousands of denominations with widely different teachings. That do not follow Yeshua’s example.

A Torah-observant follower of the Way will generally emphasize the following distinctions:

Follower of the Way

Traditional Christianity

Calls people back to Yahweh and His instructions

Teach that the Torah was abolished

Follows Yeshua as a Torah-observant Messiah

Separate Yeshua from His Torah-observant life

Observes the seventh-day Sabbath

Worships on the pagan Sunday

Honors Yahweh’s appointed festivals

Observes pagan holidays

Distinguishes clean and unclean meats

Teaches unclean animals are now food

Defines sin by Yahweh’s law

Defines sin through denominational teaching

Emphasizes the coming Kingdom of Yahweh

Teaches going to heaven or hell after death

Seeks a life of obedience produced by faith

Says belief alone as sufficient regardless of conduct

Tests traditions by Scripture

Accept traditions of men developed centuries later

Sees all believers as brethren under Yeshua

Operates through a clergy–laity hierarchy

Some people today that call themselves Christians keep the Sabbath, value the Old Testament, reject human traditions, and sincerely seek to obey Yeshua. Others may never have been taught these things.

Yeshua’s warning concerned people who confessed His name but did not obey Yahweh:

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.”

— Matthew 7:21

He concluded:

“Depart from me, ye that work lawlessness.”

— Matthew 7:23

Revelation describes Yahweh’s faithful people in similar language:

“Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of Yahweh, and the faith of Yeshua.”

— Revelation 14:12

Notice that Scripture joins the two together:

The commandments of Yahweh + faith in Yeshua.

In Summary

A follower of the Way is someone who:

  • Worships Yahweh, the Father
  • Accepts Yeshua as Messiah, Savior, Master, and King
  • Repents of sin
  • Receives salvation through grace and faith
  • Follows Yeshua’s example
  • Keeps Yahweh’s commandments from the heart
  • Studies the Torah and the Prophets alongside the apostolic writings
  • Rejects traditions that contradict Scripture
  • Loves Yahweh and loves other people
  • Proclaims the coming Kingdom of Yahweh
  • Continues faithfully until the end

The Torah shows us Yahweh’s way. Yeshua demonstrated that way perfectly. His followers walk in that same direction—not to earn salvation, but because they love and trust the One who saved them.

Who Are Followers Of The Way

What Is “the Sign of the Son of Man in Heaven”?

What Is “the Sign of the Son of Man in Heaven”?

What Is “the Sign of the Son of Man in Heaven”?

As we near the end of this age. It won't be long until we see the sign of the Son of Man in heaven

Yeshua said:

What Is “the Sign of the Son of Man in Heaven”?

Yeshua said:

“And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”
— Matthew 24:30

The sign is the first unmistakable heavenly manifestation of Yeshua’s approaching return—His glory appearing in the sky before He is fully revealed coming upon the clouds.

It will be as bright as a second sun appearing in the sky

1. It appears after the heavenly powers are shaken

Immediately before the sign appears:

“The sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.”
— Matthew 24:29

This will not be an ordinary astronomical occurrence. The familiar appearance of the heavens will be dramatically disrupted.

Revelation describes something similar:

“And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.”
— Revelation 6:14

The sign appears in the setting of these worldwide heavenly disturbances.

2. It is visible throughout the earth

Yeshua compared His coming to lightning:

“For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”
— Matthew 24:27

The sign will not be a secret message understood by only a few people. It will be a brilliant and undeniable heavenly event associated with Yeshua’s arrival.

Revelation confirms:

“Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him.”
— Revelation 1:7

3. The world immediately recognizes what it means

When the sign appears:

“Then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn.”
— Matthew 24:30

The nations apparently understand that the sign announces the arrival of the One whom they have rejected. This resembles the reaction described during the heavenly upheaval:

“Hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: for the great day of his wrath is come.”
— Revelation 6:16–17

It is not merely an interesting light in the sky. It announces that mankind’s rule is ending and that Yahweh’s appointed King is coming.

4. The sign and Yeshua’s appearance may be two stages of one revelation

Notice the order in Matthew 24:30:

  1. The sign appears in heaven.
  2. The nations mourn.
  3. They see the Son of Man coming in the clouds.

The sign is the initial manifestation of His coming glory, followed by Yeshua Himself becoming visibly recognizable.

Yeshua said:

“For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels.”
— Matthew 16:27

He will be revealed in overwhelming brightness:

“Whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming.”
— 2 Thessalonians 2:8

Biblically, Yeshua’s identifying signs are His power, glory, clouds, angels, trumpet, and worldwide visibility.

The most careful conclusion

The sign of the Son of Man is most likely the first worldwide, supernatural appearance of Yeshua’s radiant glory in the heavens, announcing that He is approaching as King.

It may look like an extraordinary brightness spreading across the heavens after the sun and moon are darkened. However, Scripture does not give its exact shape, so we should not invent one.

The sign will be so powerful and unmistakable that the nations will know:

Yeshua is coming, mankind’s age is ending, and the Kingdom of Yahweh is about to rule the earth.

THE SIGN IN HEAVEN - THE SIGN OF HIS COMING (song)

THE SIGN IN HEAVEN THE SIGN OF HIS COMING

THE SIGN IN HEAVEN

THE SIGN OF HIS COMING (song)

[Verse 1]
The sun will darken in the sky,
The moon will hide her light,
The stars will fall, the heavens shake,
The world will face the night.
Then through the darkness glory shines,
Across the trembling sky—
The sign of our returning King,
The Son of Man draws nigh.

[Pre-Chorus]
Not hidden in a secret place,
Not seen by just a few—
From east to west His glory spreads,
And every eye shall view.

[Chorus]
The sign in heaven will appear,
Like a second sun, so bright and clear;
The nations mourn, the people fear—
Yeshua the King is drawing near!
The clouds will blaze with power and light,
The age of man will end that night;
Lift up your eyes—His Kingdom’s near,
The sign of the Son of Man appears!

[Verse 2]
The heavens roll back like a scroll,
The mountains move and shake;
The rulers cry, “Now hide us from
The wrath we cannot escape!”
For mankind’s kingdoms cannot stand
Before Yahweh’s decree;
The Lamb once hated and rejected
Comes in majesty.

[Pre-Chorus]
The world will know what it has seen,
No man will need explain;
The glory of the coming King
Will shine across the plain.

[Chorus]
The sign in heaven will appear,
Like a second sun, so bright and clear;
The nations mourn, the people fear—
Yeshua the King is drawing near!
The clouds will blaze with power and light,
The age of man will end that night;
Lift up your eyes—His Kingdom’s near,
The sign of the Son of Man appears!

[Verse 3]
First comes the sign within the heavens,
Then mourning fills the lands;
Then they behold Him in the clouds,
All power in His hands.
Ten thousand angels come with Him,
His brightness fills the sky;
The King appointed by Yahweh
Has come to reign on high.

[Bridge]
We will not guess its form or shape,
Nor add unto the Word;
But all the earth will see the sign
Announcing Yahweh’s King.
His glory will consume the dark,
His truth will conquer lies;
The kingdoms of this world will fall—
Yahweh’s Kingdom now shall rise!

[Breakdown]
Every eye shall see Him!
Every nation know!
Yeshua comes in glory—
His power He will show!
No secret disappearance,
No hidden, silent flight;
The King is coming in the clouds,
In overwhelming light!

[Final Chorus]
The sign in heaven will appear,
Like a second sun, so bright and clear;
The nations mourn, the people fear—
Yeshua the King is drawing near!
The clouds will blaze with power and light,
The age of man will end that night;
Lift up your eyes—His Kingdom’s near,
The sign of the Son of Man appears!

[Outro]
The heavens shake…
The darkness clears…
The King approaches…
The sign appears.
Yeshua is coming—
Let all the earth prepare;
The Kingdom of Yahweh
Will rule forever here.

[Verse 1]

They say He walked among the dead,
And preached to souls beneath the earth;
But Scripture never speaks those words,
Or gives that teaching any birth.
Yeshua died and lay within
The silent darkness of the grave;
No journey through a burning hell,
No second chance beyond the grave.

[Pre-Chorus]
Slow down and read what Peter said,
Let Scripture make the meaning clear:
The Spirit spoke in Noah’s day,
While living men could still hear.

[Chorus]
He did not preach while He was dead,
He rested silent in the grave;
The Spirit preached through Noah’s voice,
And called that ancient world to change.
They heard the warning while alive,
But turned away and would not hear;
He did not preach while He was dead—
The Word of Yahweh makes it clear.

[Verse 2]
“By which He went and preached,” it says—
By Spirit, working long before;
The Spirit spoke through faithful men
And called the nations to Yahweh.
Noah, a preacher of what’s right,
Built the ark before their eyes;
For many years the warning came,
But they rejected and despised.

[Pre-Chorus]
They were not spirits when they heard;
They lived beneath the open sky.
They heard the truth from Noah’s lips,
Rejected it—and then they died.

[Chorus]
He did not preach while He was dead,
He rested silent in the grave;
The Spirit preached through Noah’s voice,
And called that ancient world to change.
They heard the warning while alive,
But turned away and would not hear;
He did not preach while He was dead—
The Word of Yahweh makes it clear.

[Verse 3]
“The dead know nothing,” Scripture says;
Their thoughts and labors disappear.
They cannot listen or repent;
No gospel reaches waiting ears.
Appointed once for man to die,
And after death—the judgment day;
No secret door, no second chance,
No preaching in the silent grave.

[Bridge]
The gospel preached to those now dead
Was preached when they were still alive;
The night will come when none can work—
Today’s the day to choose the right.
Death is a sleep until the call,
Until the dead arise and stand;
Then every life will face the throne,
According to Yahweh’s command.

[Breakdown]
No preaching tour—
No burning hell—
No conscious souls
Who heard Him tell.
The Spirit spoke
Through Noah then;
The warning came
To living men.

[Final Chorus]
He did not preach while He was dead,
He rested silent in the grave;
The Spirit preached through Noah’s voice,
And called that ancient world to change.
They heard the warning while alive,
But turned away and would not hear;
He did not preach while He was dead—
The Word of Yahweh makes it clear.

He did not preach while He was dead;
Death is a sleep until we rise.
The truth is written in the Word—
Let Scripture open up our eyes.

[Outro]
The Spirit spoke through Noah then;
The warning came to living men.
Yeshua rested with the dead—
He did not preach while He was dead.

THE REWARD OF THE "SAVED" (NOT HEAVEN) (song)

HEAVEN IS COMING DOWN

HEAVEN IS COMING DOWN

THE REWARD OF THE "SAVED"

(NOT HEAVEN) (song)

[Intro]

Our hope is not beyond the sky,
Our promised home is drawing nigh.
The throne of Yahweh shall come down—
His children gathered all around.

[Verse 1]
No man has ascended into heaven,
David still is sleeping in the grave.
The faithful wait for resurrection,
For Yeshua’s voice to call the saved.

He will return in power and glory,
Bringing every promised reward.
His feet will stand upon the mountain,
And all the earth shall know its King and Lord.

[Pre-Chorus]
The meek shall rise,
The saints shall sing—
The earth belongs
To Yahweh’s King!

[Chorus]
Heaven is coming down,
New Jerusalem!
Yahweh will dwell upon the earth
Forevermore with men.

We’re not going up
To make our home beyond the clouds—
Our Father’s throne is coming here!
Heaven is coming down!

[Verse 2]
Yeshua will reign for a thousand years,
With His faithful saints upon the earth.
They will serve as righteous kings and priests,
Teaching every nation of His worth.

Peace will flow from Zion like a river,
Truth and justice covering the land.
Every kingdom bowing to Yeshua,
Every people learning Yahweh’s plan.

[Pre-Chorus]
The meek shall rise,
The saints shall sing—
The earth belongs
To Yahweh’s King!

[Chorus]
Heaven is coming down,
New Jerusalem!
Yahweh will dwell upon the earth
Forevermore with men.

We’re not going up
To make our home beyond the clouds—
Our Father’s throne is coming here!
Heaven is coming down!

[Bridge]
A new heaven!
A new earth!
No more sorrow,
No more curse!

Yahweh’s dwelling
Now with men—
Father and children,
Together again!

The holy city,
Bright and crowned,
Descending from His throne—
Heaven is coming down!

[Final Chorus – Powerful]
Heaven is coming down,
New Jerusalem!
Yahweh will dwell upon the earth
Forevermore with men.

The meek inherit
The world made glorious and new—
Our Father’s throne is coming here,
And every word is true!

Heaven is coming down,
Let all creation sound:
“The tabernacle of Yahweh
Is with His children now!”

[Outro]
Yahweh will dwell with us…
Yeshua will reign…
Heaven is coming down…
Forever—Amen.

IT SHALL NOT BE SO AMONG YOU (song)

IT SHALL NOT BE SO AMONG YOU

IT SHALL NOT BE SO AMONG YOU (song)

The Way — Early Congregation Gatherings

[Intro]

One is your Master—Yeshua the Messiah,
And all of you are brethren.
The rulers of this world lord over their people,
But among you—it shall not be so.

[Verse 1]
They gathered together from house to house,
Breaking their bread with thankful hearts.
No throne for a preacher, no ruler of faith,
Each one was given a part.

The elders were servants, humble and true,
Watching the flock in love.
They never sought titles, riches, or power,
But wisdom from Yahweh above.

[Pre-Chorus]
No rulers and ruled,
No mighty and small;
Yeshua alone
Is the Head over all.

[Chorus]
It shall not be so among you,
You are sisters and brothers.
No man shall have dominion
Over the faith of another.

Come back to the Way,
Come back to what’s true:
One Master—Yeshua,
And all brethren too.
It shall not be so,
It shall not be so among you.

[Verse 2]
The deeds of the Nicolaitans
Divided the body within:
A clergy commanding the people below,
A system built by men.

But Yeshua said that He hated their deeds,
And hated their doctrine as well.
For power corrupts the fellowship of faith
When pride begins to swell.

[Pre-Chorus]
No ruler of souls,
No spiritual throne;
The sheep of Yahweh
Belong to Him alone.

[Chorus]
It shall not be so among you,
You are sisters and brothers.
No man shall have dominion
Over the faith of another.

Come back to the Way,
Come back to what’s true:
One Master—Yeshua,
And all brethren too.
It shall not be so,
It shall not be so among you.

[Verse 3]
There were elders in every assembly,
Not one man ruling them all.
The gifts of the Spirit were given to serve,
Not to make one brother tall.

Apostles instructed and pleaded in love;
They never controlled anyone’s faith.
The whole congregation discerned together,
With Yeshua leading the Way.

[Bridge]
No central throne,
No headquarters of men,
No chain of command
That imprisons again.

No clergy above,
No laity below;
We are one living body,
Where Yahweh’s Spirit flows.

Come out of the system,
Come into the light.
Test every teaching
And hold to what’s right.

Yeshua is Head—
Let every man know:
The rulers may lord over nations,
But among us—it shall not be so!

[Final Chorus]
It shall not be so among you,
You are sisters and brothers.
No man shall have dominion
Over the faith of another.

Come back to the homes,
Come back to the truth;
Come back to the pattern
Yeshua’s people once knew.

One body, one faith,
One Spirit making us new;
One Master—Yeshua,
And all brethren too.

It shall not be so!
It shall not be so!
It shall not be so among you!

[Outro]
“Neither as being lords
Over Yahweh’s heritage…”

Yeshua alone is the Head.
And all of you are brethren.

[Intro]

Watch and be ready.
The hour is drawing near.
No man knows the day it begins,
but Scripture shows us what to fear—
and what to hope for.

[Verse 1]

Wars and rumors fill the earth,
nation rises against nation;
Famine, sickness, lawlessness,
a world prepared for tribulation.

Truth is traded for a lie,
the love of many growing cold;
A falling away from Yahweh’s Way,
just as the prophets long foretold.

[Pre-Chorus]

Do not follow signs alone,
for lying wonders will appear;
Hold to every word of Yahweh—
lift your eyes, the end draws near.

[Chorus]

The King is coming, watch and pray,
Yeshua will return one day;
At the last trumpet, loud and clear,
the kingdoms of this world disappear.

Stand in faith, endure until the end,
keep Yahweh’s commandments once again;
Through darkest night, His light will shine—
the King is coming, the victory is nigh!

[Verse 2]

Ten kings surrender all their strength,
the Beast is given forty-two months;
A false prophet works great signs,
and leads the world away from truth.

Buying, selling—both controlled,
the mark demands allegiance;
But the saints of Yahweh will not bow—
they stand in patient obedience.

Two witnesses arise and speak
for twelve hundred sixty days;
Clothed in sackcloth, warning nations,
calling mankind from its ways.

[Pre-Chorus]

When their testimony is complete,
the Beast will strike and take their breath;
But after three days and a half,
Yahweh will raise them up from death!

[Chorus]

The King is coming, watch and pray,
Yeshua will return one day;
At the last trumpet, loud and clear,
the kingdoms of this world disappear.

Stand in faith, endure until the end,
keep Yahweh’s commandments once again;
Through darkest night, His light will shine—
the King is coming, the victory is nigh!

[Verse 3]

The sun grows dark, the moon turns red,
the heavens tremble at His wrath;
Seven trumpets shake the earth
as judgment travels down its path.

Then the seventh trumpet sounds—
the sleeping saints arise;
The living faithful shall be changed
and gathered through the skies.

They meet Yeshua in the air,
immortal, clothed in light;
Upon the fiery sea of glass,
they praise Yahweh with all their might.

[Bridge]

Babylon has fallen!
The reign of man is done!
The armies gather near Jerusalem,
but victory has already come!

Heaven opens—see the Rider,
Faithful, True, the living Word;
Every eye beholds Yeshua,
King of kings and mighty Sovereign!

His feet shall stand upon the Mount,
the Beast and prophet fall;
Satan bound a thousand years—
Yeshua shall reign over all!

[Final Chorus]

The King has come, the trumpet sounds,
Yeshua takes the nations’ crowns;
The faithful rise, the saints appear—
the Kingdom of Yahweh is finally here!

No more hatred, no more war,
His righteous law goes near and far;
Swords become the plowman’s blade—
all the earth shall learn His ways!

[Outro]

So watch and pray,
repent and obey;
Hold fast to the faith of Yeshua.

Endure to the end,
for the darkness will pass—
and the Kingdom of Yahweh
shall cover the earth at last.

The King is coming.
The King is coming.
Watch…
and be ready.

WHEN EVIL DISGUISES ITSELF AS GOOD

WHEN EVIL DISGUISES ITSELF AS GOOD A Bible Study on Deception, the Beast, and Remaining Faithful to Yahweh Key passages: 2 Corinthians 11:13...
