[Verse 1]
Paul knew the burden of this life,
The weary road, the pain and strife.
To stay meant serving one more day,
To teach the brethren Yahweh's way.

Hard pressed between the paths before,
To stay and serve, or labor no more.
For you, he said, I'll still remain,
But for me, to die would be gain.

[Pre-Chorus]
Not because death was his reward,
But beyond the grave he saw his Lord.
His work would end, his eyes would close,
Until the trumpet calls him home.

[Chorus]
Blessed are the dead
Who die in the Lord.
They rest from their labor,
Their works are not ignored.

Safe in Yahweh's keeping,
Sleeping through the night,
Waiting for the voice of Yeshua
To call them back to life.

[Verse 2]
Paul knew the dead would rise again,
When Yeshua comes to reign with men.
The trumpet sounds, the graves release,
And those who slept awaken in peace.

No endless watching from the sky,
No years of waiting passing by.
They close their eyes, their labor done,
Their next awareness—the returning Son.

[Chorus]
Blessed are the dead
Who die in the Lord.
They rest from their labor,
Their works are not ignored.

Safe in Yahweh's keeping,
Sleeping through the night,
Waiting for the voice of Yeshua
To call them back to life.

[Bridge]
To live was service.
To die was gain.
To rest from sorrow,
To rest from pain.

The grave is not the end of hope,
The resurrection lies ahead.
The dead in Yeshua shall rise first—
And death will lose its hold upon the dead!

[Final Chorus]
Blessed are the dead
Who die in the Lord!
Their battle is over,
Their hope is secure!

The trumpet will sound,
And the graves will release!
Yeshua will call them—
AWAKE FROM YOUR SLEEP!

**Raised incorruptible,
Never again to die!
Blessed are the dead in the Lord—
FOR THEY SHALL RISE!

[Outro]
Rest from your labor,
Sleep through the night.
The next voice you hear
Will call you to life.

Blessed are the dead
Who die in the Lord.
