THE THIEF — THE PROMISE WAS FOR THE KINGDOM (SONG)

THE THIEF — THE PROMISE WAS FOR THE KINGDOM (SONG)

[Intro]

Two men were dying beneath the darkened sky,
One turned to Yeshua with hope in his eyes.
“Remember me when Your Kingdom comes.”
And Yeshua gave His word—
A promise of what was still to come.

[Verse 1]

“Truly I say to you today,
You will be with Me in paradise.”
No comma marked the ancient page,
No punctuation set the time.

The promise spoken on that day
Was not that heaven waited that night.
The thief looked toward the coming Kingdom,
To resurrection and new life.

[Pre-Chorus]

For Yeshua rested in the grave,
And on the third day rose again.
Then He said, “I have not yet ascended
To My Father in heaven.”

[Chorus]

Not that day—there was a Kingdom coming!
Not that day—there was a resurrection!
The dead will wake when Yeshua returns,
When the trumpet sounds across the earth.

The thief believed, the promise was made:
“You will be with Me in paradise.”
Not in heaven on the day they died—
But in the Kingdom, raised to life!

[Verse 2]

“No one has ascended into heaven,”
Those were Yeshua’s words so clear.
David himself did not ascend;
He sleeps until the King appears.

The dead know nothing in their sleep,
They rest beneath the dust of earth.
But when the voice of Yeshua calls,
The sleeping saints will rise at His return.

[Bridge]

The thief never said,
“Take me to heaven today.”
He looked beyond the grave
And knew the Kingdom was on its way.

“Remember me WHEN You come,
When You come into Your Kingdom!”

And Yeshua answered with a promise
That death could never take away!

[Final Chorus]

Not that day—there was a Kingdom coming!
Not that day—there was a resurrection!
The graves will open, the dead will rise,
When Yeshua comes in power and might!

The thief believed, the promise was made:
“You will be with Me in paradise!”
The grave is sleep—but hope survives—
IN YAHWEH’S KINGDOM, WE WILL RISE!

[Outro]

“Remember me
When You come into Your Kingdom.”

The promise still stands.

We will rise.
