WE HAVE NO IMMORTAL SOUL (SONG)
[Intro — quiet, solemn]
From the dust Yahweh formed us,
Breathed the breath of life.
Man became a living soul—
Not a soul that cannot die.
[Verse 1]
The soul that sins shall surely die,
The Word of Yahweh makes it plain.
When our breath departs from us,
We return to earth again.
The living know that they will die,
But the dead know nothing there.
Their thoughts have perished with their breath,
They're sleeping, unaware.
[Pre-Chorus]
We don't rise to heaven,
We don't burn forevermore.
We sleep in death and wait until
Yeshua calls us from the grave.
[Chorus — powerful]
We have no immortal soul,
Immortality's a gift!
The mortal shall put on eternal life
When Yahweh makes us live!
We sleep until the resurrection,
Waiting for Yeshua's call.
Then the graves will open,
And His people will arise!
Death will lose its victory—
Death will lose its sting!
This mortal shall put on immortality
At the coming of the King!
[Verse 2]
Yahweh alone has immortality,
His Word declares it true.
If we possessed eternal life,
Why seek what we already knew?
But Scripture says that we must seek
Immortality and life.
And at the resurrection day,
The mortal will arise.
[Bridge — building]
There is coming an hour
When the sleeping dead will hear—
The voice of Yeshua calling,
And the graves will disappear!
Corruptible—incorruptible!
Mortal—immortality!
Death is swallowed up in victory!
[Final Chorus — huge, triumphant]
We have no immortal soul,
Immortality's a gift!
The mortal shall put on eternal life
When Yahweh makes us live!
We sleep until the resurrection,
Waiting for Yeshua's call.
Then the graves will open,
And His people will arise!
Death will lose its victory—
Death will lose its sting!
This mortal shall put on immortality
At the coming of the King!
[Outro — quiet]
Sleeping now...
But not forever.
Waiting for the resurrection,
Waiting for Yeshua's voice.
And the dead shall rise.
