“You shall surely die.”
But the serpent whispered:
“You shall not surely die.”
And the world believed the lie.

From the dust Yahweh formed us,
Breathed the breath of life within;
But death entered through rebellion,
And the wages came through sin.
“Dust you are, to dust returning,”
Yahweh’s judgment still remains;
There’s no spirit soul escaping,
No immortal life in man.

Life is not our own possession,
Immortality’s a gift;
Only Yahweh lives immortal—
Only He can make us live.
