But open the Scriptures, what do we see?
Yeshua was hanged upon a tree.

The Greek says stauros, a stake standing tall,
An upright timber, a pole—that is all.
And xulon means timber, the Scriptures declare,
So why do traditions put a cross there?

We'll search the Word and follow what we're told.
Strip away tradition, let Scripture speak—
The truth of Yahweh is what we seek.

Traditions grew and shadows were cast.
Under Constantine, the symbol gained fame,
But Yeshua never commanded its name.

The written Word is what we need.
Not what was added, not what men say—
