WHY YAHWEH CREATED MANKIND

Scripture shows why Yahweh created mankind. It shows that Yahweh is reproducing Himself in man. That we are now his begotten children to be born into His family and live for eternity with Him.

Yahweh Is Reproducing His Character and Nature in His Children

The phrase “Yahweh is reproducing Himself” does not appear word-for-word in Scripture. Yet it accurately summarizes a great biblical purpose: Yahweh created human beings in His image so that they could receive His Spirit, develop His righteous character, and ultimately be born into His eternal family as glorified children.

This means that His children will share His spiritual nature, reflect His character, and live eternally under His authority.

1. Mankind Was Created After Yahweh’s Image

Yahweh revealed His purpose at mankind’s creation:

“And Elohim said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.”
— Genesis 1:26

“So Elohim created man in his own image, in the image of Elohim created he him; male and female created he them.”
— Genesis 1:27

Animals were created “after their kind,” but mankind was created after the likeness of Elohim.

Human beings were not created with Yahweh’s complete spiritual character already formed. We were created as physical beings with the capacity to receive His Spirit and progressively become like Him.

The physical creation was therefore the beginning—not the completion—of Yahweh’s purpose for mankind.

2. Yahweh Desires Children Who Reflect His Character

Scripture reveals that Yahweh desires righteous offspring:

“And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed.”
— Malachi 2:15

The expression “godly seed” is offspring belonging to Elohim. Yahweh is not merely gathering servants; He is forming a family of children who willingly share His character.

Yeshua commanded His followers:

“Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”
— Matthew 5:48

Yahweh’s purpose is to reproduce within us:

• His love
• His holiness
• His righteousness
• His faithfulness
• His mercy
• His truth
• His way of thinking

This character cannot be created instantly by command. It must be developed as we surrender to Yahweh, receive His Spirit, obey His Word, endure trials, and repeatedly choose righteousness.

3. We Must Be Begotten by Yahweh’s Spirit

A person becomes Yahweh’s child through spiritual begettal.

“Whosoever is born of Elohim doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him.”
— 1 John 3:9

The Greek word translated “seed” is sperma. Yahweh places His spiritual seed—His Holy Spirit—within the believer.

Peter describes this spiritual beginning:

“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of Elohim, which liveth and abideth for ever.”
— 1 Peter 1:23

James likewise says:

“Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.”
— James 1:18

Those who repent, are baptized, and receive Yahweh’s Spirit become His begotten children. A spiritual life has begun within them, but the process is not yet complete.

4. We Are His Children Now—but Our Full Birth Is Still Future

John makes both parts of this truth clear:

“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of Elohim.”
— 1 John 3:1

We are already called Yahweh’s children because His Spirit dwells within us. But we have not yet received the fullness of what He intends us to become:

“Beloved, now are we the sons of Elohim, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.”
— 1 John 3:2

Notice the progression:

1. Now we are Yahweh’s children.
2. What we shall become has not yet fully appeared.
3. At Yeshua’s appearing, we shall be like Him.

We are now begotten spiritually, but our final birth into immortal glory occurs at the resurrection.

5. Yahweh’s Spirit Is the Life of the Father Within Us

Paul explained:

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of Elohim, they are the sons of Elohim.”
— Romans 8:14

“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of Elohim.”
— Romans 8:16

Yahweh’s Spirit joins with the human spirit and begins forming His mind and character within us.

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Messiah Yeshua.”
— Philippians 2:5

“But we have the mind of Messiah.”
— 1 Corinthians 2:16

The Spirit is not merely evidence that we belong to Yahweh. It is the beginning and guarantee of what He intends to complete in us.

“In whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance.”
— Ephesians 1:13–14

The word “earnest” means a deposit or down payment. We have received only the first portion now. The fullness comes at the resurrection.

6. Yeshua Is the Firstborn of Many Children

Yeshua is not intended to remain Yahweh’s only glorified Son. He is called the firstborn, showing that others will follow.

“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.”
— Romans 8:29

Yeshua is the pattern to which Yahweh’s other children are being conformed.

“For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.”
— Hebrews 2:10

The purpose is plainly stated: Yahweh is bringing many sons to glory.

Yeshua is the firstborn from the dead:

“And he is the head of the body, the assembly: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead.”
— Colossians 1:18

Yeshua has already experienced the transformation that His faithful followers will experience at His return.

7. We Are Being Conformed to Yeshua’s Image

Yahweh’s work within us is a process of spiritual transformation:

“But we all… beholding as in a glass the glory of Yahweh, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of Yahweh.”
— 2 Corinthians 3:18

Paul also described this process as Yeshua being formed within us:

“My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Messiah be formed in you.”
— Galatians 4:19

Yahweh is reproducing within us the same righteous character that is perfectly revealed in Yeshua.

“Till we all come… unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Messiah.”
— Ephesians 4:13

This transformation requires our willing cooperation:

“And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.”
— 1 John 3:3

8. We Are Called to Partake of the Divine Nature

Peter gives one of the clearest statements concerning Yahweh’s purpose:

“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”
— 2 Peter 1:4

We do not become Yahweh the Father, nor do we become equal in authority to Him. But His children will partake of His divine nature:

• Incorruptible
• Immortal
• Holy
• Righteous
• Filled with perfect love
• No longer subject to sin, sickness, suffering, or death

Yahweh is creating a family whose members bear His image, share His nature, and live according to His righteous character.

9. Our Full Birth Occurs at the Resurrection

Physical flesh cannot inherit Yahweh’s Kingdom:

“Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of Elohim; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:50

A complete transformation must occur:

“The dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:52

“For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:53

Paul compares our present physical body to a seed planted in the earth:

“It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:44

The physical body is sown in weakness and mortality. At the resurrection, Yahweh’s faithful children will be raised in power, glory, and immortality.

“Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body.”
— Philippians 3:21

This is our full spiritual birth into Yahweh’s family.

10. Creation Is Waiting for the Children of Yahweh to Be Revealed

Paul shows that this purpose concerns the future of the entire creation:

“For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of Elohim.”
— Romans 8:19

Even Spirit-begotten believers are still waiting:

“Even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.”
— Romans 8:23

The revealing of Yahweh’s children occurs when their mortal bodies are redeemed and transformed into immortal spirit bodies.

They will then serve with Yeshua in restoring creation under Yahweh’s government.

11. Yahweh’s Children Will Inherit All Things

Yahweh’s family purpose reaches its fulfillment in Revelation:

“He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his Elohim, and he shall be my son.”
— Revelation 21:7

Paul says the same:

“And if children, then heirs; heirs of Elohim, and joint-heirs with Messiah; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”
— Romans 8:17

We are not being saved merely to escape punishment. We are being prepared to become children and heirs in Yahweh’s eternal family.

The Purpose in One Sentence

Yahweh created physical mankind in His image so that, through His Word and Spirit, we could develop His righteous character and eventually be born as immortal, glorified children in His eternal family.

We are now:

• Human beings made in Yahweh’s image
• Called through His Word
• Begotten through His Spirit
• Developing His character
• Being conformed to Yeshua’s image
• Awaiting our spiritual birth at the resurrection
• Destined to inherit all things as Yahweh’s children

“Beloved, now are we the sons of Elohim… when he shall appear, we shall be like him.”
— 1 John 3:2

That is why Yahweh created mankind: He is building a family.
